First announced at BlizzCon 2023, we’ll learn more about the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion sooner rather than later.

Blizzard took an unprecedented stance and had Chris Metzen, executive creative director of theWarcraftfranchise, introduce not one, not two, but threeWorld of Warcraft expansions, all part of the “Worldsoul Saga.”

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic Launches July 21st

The pre-patch for Mists of Pandaria begins July 1st.

Currently, players are enjoying The War Within, withSeason 3set to begin soon. Blizzard has been keeping an eye on the future, with theMidnight expansiontaking place in Qual’thalas. Instead of discovering a new continent, we’re headed back to Azeroth, where the team will reimagine older zones like the Ghostlands, first introduced in the Burning Crusade expansion, for the modern era.

Presumably, this includes being able to fly to Ghostlands from the Eastern Kingdoms, something that’s not currently possible. This would be the first revamp of older zones since the Cataclysm expansion and will touch on Burning Crusade era zones, all of which are in desperate need of a facelift.

World of Warcraft Horror-Themed New Mode Teased By Blizzard

Blizzard confirmed it won’t be another battle royale.

Don’t be surprised to see them talk aboutplayer housing, which is set to release either alongside the Midnight expansion or even beforehand. Scheduled to release before the end of 2025, the introduction of player housing in World of Warcraft has been a long time coming. Players will finally be able to customize their own in-game homes with an impressive number of customization options.

While we already know where the future of World of Warcraft is headed following the Midnight expansion (The Last Titan, which will take place in Northrend), don’t expect to hear any news about that just yet. Then again, Blizzard did say there will be some surprises, so maybe they’ll give us a teaser?
