As one might expect in a game calledAnger Footthe most important decision to make before starting each new round of face- and door-kicking chaos is choosing which pair of sneakers to wear. Choosing well could mean turning a tough challenge into a walk in the park, whereas choosing poorly could, well, make it outright impossible.

Free Lives Reveals the Chaotic Glory That Is Anger Foot

What are the best sneakers inAnger Foot, though? Some apply funny visual mods, some grant new moves and some even change the rules of the game. Most are highly situational, possessing a gimmick that’s only useful for certain challenges. All of this has been taken into account here, so read on for the ten overall best sneakers to wear throughout the game.

If you’re nothing without the shoes, then you shouldn’t have them.

Several levels in Anger Foot have a challenge requiring players to clear it without wearing shoes. Yup, they want the shoe-obsessed Anger Foot to get through the levels without any footwear whatsoever, and it’s up to players to make it happen.

The Feet are exactly that, Anger Foot’s bare feet. They’re not flashy, they’re just green, hard-hitting and oddly dextrous. If nothing else, they at least grant players the satisfaction of knowing that they’re a door-kicking terror even without an OP pair of sneakers.

Retro vibes are the best vibes!

Rather than granting a useful ability or rule change, the Boomers grant the game a decidedly retro feel. Seriously, that’s all they do. They apply a pixel filter, zoom the camera in a little bit, adjust the sound quality and grant Mr. Foot a health bar.

Dust off those old disks, because we’re loading some classic first-person shooters that redefined the genre.

Are they useful? Not terribly. Are they fun to use? Absolutely! It’s very much like the retro mode fromDead Space 3but the conditions for unlocking it are much less daunting.

8Stilettos

It’s a good thing that looks can’t kill.

Kind of like the Boomers or the Clown Shoes, the Stilettos are mostly there for comedic effect. Wearing them doesn’t grant any sort of power buff; Rather, they’re more of a debuff as they render bullets nonlethal. However, there’s at least one challenge where the player has to get through without killing any enemies, giving these shoes at least one use case.

There’s also another challenge in the Business Gang portion that requires players to complete a level without kicking while wearing the Stilettos, making them required for completing the game.

Anger Foot - Boomers

I’m not drunk, YOU’RE drunk!

While you can get drunk in Anger Foot, it’s usually not recommended since it makes just about everything more difficult. However, some of those downsides can and do go away if all the enemies are drunk too. This is what the Plakkies do and there are at least a couple of occasions where this ability comes in clutch.

However, some of those downsides can and do go away if all the enemies are drunk too.

The first is in the Violence Gang portion, where there’s a challenge to complete a stage without taking damage. Drunk enemies can’t shoot straight, so there you go. Another chance is in the same portion where the player must kill forty enemies while drunk.

6Timestoppers

There’s a lot of door-kicking in Anger Foot, and thankfully so because kicking down doors is just plain awesome! There’s something that’s even more awesome, though, and that’s kicking down doorsin dramatic slow motion! This is where the Timestoppers come in and shine!

The Timestoppers are also a viable option for any “no damage” challenges in Anger Foot since they give the player extra time to react to any enemies waiting behind those kickable doors. While not necessarily better than the Plakkies, their effect grants players more agency and control when seeking to avoid injuries.

5Rage Runners

Shoes for when speed alone isn’t enough.

At first glance, the Rage Runners look like they’d be the ideal shoe for the speedrunning challenges, and they are. They’re only good, however, if the player has an appropriately aggressive playstyle. See, the Rage Runners grant both more speed and more anger upon kicking down doors, so they’re best used by players that want carnage along with their speedrun.

There’s also a challenge in the Debauchery Gang portion of Anger Foot which requires the player to complete the level ridiculously quickly while leaving no survivors. More anger means more damage, so the Rage Runners are the perfect fit there.

4Brain Expanders

DK mode is back, baby!

Those old enough to have played GoldenEye 007 back in its heyday will no doubt remember one of its most iconic unlockables: DK Mode, the oddly named mode that gave all the characters giant heads for some reason. Well, it’s finally back in Anger Head and it actually has practical applications!

10 Games to Play if You Love Anger Foot

Do you like kicking down doors and kicking in heads? Then Anger Foot is for you! And for more face-paced first-person action, try these games as well!

Several challenges in Anger Foot require killing a certain number of goons with headshots, so what better choice of sneakers than those that make those heads vastly easier to hit? Also, giant-headed enemies will never not be funny!

Why don’t we see funny cheats and unlocks like these anymore? Are games really so serious these days that there’s truly no room for them?

3Soul Suckers

Sometimes all you need is kill.

Even though there are more powerful shoes out there, sometimes it’s enough to just tank through anything and everything the enemy throws at you. That’s what the Souls Suckers do, granting greatly increased damage reduction at the cost of taking Anger Foot’s life if he goes too long without killing enemies.

These sneakers are just okay in normal play, but they carry hard on any of Anger Foot’s speedrunning challenges. Seriously, with these on, players can pretty much just run through each level at top speed without worrying about enemy fire for the most part. Just make sure to remember to feed the shoes enough kills to stay alive, though, yeah?

2Holy Sandals

The power to walk on fluids…and cheese.

Out of all the shoes in Anger Foot, the Holy Sandals might be the only ones to grant Mr. Foot two useful abilities. The first and most powerful is the ability to come back once after dying, and the second is the power to walk upon any and all fluids.

Thanks to this awesome ability combo, not only do the Holy Sandals make Anger Foot’s second and fourth bosses much easier to deal with, but they also make the kicking, fire and cheese-drowning challenges much more doable. Just make sure not to wear socks with them, okay?

The only pair of shoes you’ll ever want to wear.

The Chargers are more or less the best pair of sneakers in Anger Foot for one reason: the sheer versatility of their charging ability. With them on, players can easily clear numerous challenges, the most of any single pair of shoes! These include speedrunning, single-kicking and no-jumping challenges.

Essentially, the Chargers enable players to charge through (and kill) multiple enemies, clear gaps and overcome certain obstacles that the other speedrunning sneakers, the Soul Suckers, cannot. They’re speed, power and acrobatics all rolled into a single, stylish pair of sneakers.

Since Anger Foot gives players a lot of freedom when it comes to clearing levels and challenges, there’s certainly potential for other sneakers to outshine what’s listed here. That’s part of what makes the game as addicting as it is oddly funny. Still, with careful consideration of challenge requirements, one cannot go wrong with any of the shoes discussed above!
