With 2022 already halfway over, the world of drama has seen a number ofgreat Korean showsso far; adding to the hype for all the upcoming projects later in the year. Many of them have evenmade their way to Netflix, one of the most-watched streaming platforms. From long overdue actor comebacks and much-awaited sequels, to famous adaptations and remakes, here are the most anticipated Korean dramas still to come in summer 2022:

Written by Kwon Ki-Young (Suspicious Partner), and directed by No Sang-Hoon (Hello Monster), this modern romance-fantasy drama stars the unique pairing of Yeo Jin-goo and

Moon Ga-young, both of whom were prominent child actors in drama land history.

20 years after his twin sister went missing, Chef Eun Gye Hoon (Yeo Jin-goo) returns to the town where the incident took place, and sets up a restaurant. One day, he starts to experience a series of emotions and sensations that are not his own. He soon finds out about his strange connection to a woman called Noh Da Hyun (Moon Ga-young), the one responsible for his newfound emotional state.

6Yumi’s Cells - July 18, 2025

This will be the second season of the drama adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Lee Dong Geon. With director Lee Sang-Yeob returning to helm the production, fans can expect the reunion of the beloved cast from season one, especially Kim Go-eun and GOT7’s Jinyoung.

Once her short-lived relationship with game designer Gu Woong (Ahn Bo-hyun) fizzles out, an older and wiser Yu Mi (Kim Go-eun) feels ready to face life’s challenges head on. It is a series that depicts the beginning of a new love for Yumi. With the unwavering support of her co-worker Yoo Bobby (Jinyoung), there’s nothing that can stand in the way of Yu Mi and her hardworking cells.

5Alchemy of Souls - June 02, 2025

From the repertoire of the critically-acclaimed Hong Sisters (Hotel del Luna,A Korean Odyssey),comesAlchemy of Souls. It is an original high fantasy and historical production led by Netflix, and directed byWhat’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?Director Park Joon-Hwa.

The story follows the mystical phenomenon of"hwanhonsool", where the soul of a dead person enters the body of a living being.

Deok Yi (Jung So-min) is a legendary warrior trapped in the mortal body of a young woman. Struggling to survive with a weak outer body, she enters into a master-slave pact with troublemaker Jang Wook (Lee Jae-wook), a nobleman with a controversial birth secret. He provides her shelter, and she teaches him sword fighting. The two soon become each other’s rocks in the turbulent country of Daeho. In another perspective, the story depicts how a group of young magicians tries to escape their harsh fate due to"hwanhonsool".

4Jinxed At First - June 14, 2025

Adapted from the webtoonThe Jinx’s Loverby Han Ji-hye, and illustrator Gu Seul. This show is directed by Yun Sang-Ho. It is a comedy-fantasy drama that is perfect for light-hearted viewing in the warm months of summer.

Beautiful, fiery, and rebellious, the goddess of fortune, Lee Seul-bi (Seol Hyun) fights her destiny by getting entangled in the life of the unlucky Gong Soo-Kwang (Na In-woo). The owner of a craft beer store, who has calmly come to terms with his ill fortune. Hilarity and romance ensue as these two opposing people form a bond.

3Anna - July 18, 2025

Adapted from the critically-acclaimed novelIntimate Strangerby Jung Hana, this thriller marks the drama debut of female director Lee Joo-Young. It also features the return of idol actress Bae Suzy, to drama land after two years, with her last project being the 2020 hit dramaStart-Up.

In an exploration of Ripley’s syndrome, the drama tells the story of Yu Mi (Bae Suzy), an ordinary woman whose life spirals out of control after an encounter with Hyun Joo (Jung Eun-chae), a wealthy, affluent woman.
