The Manor inClair Obscur: Expedition 33is one of the bigger mysteries. While the Paintress and the Nevron monsters are certainly the core mysteries, you will stumble across random doors across the world that will lead you back to one specific location: The Manor.

This rather large mansion is beyond space and time, and you first encounter it a couple of hours into the story while looking for Maelle. You not only find her in her, but a spooky human-like figure that has been teaching her various new skills to protect herself against the horrifying threats of the world.

Sending someone into the pits can be a hard choice, but deciding which weapon you want is even harder.

When you first arrive at The Manor, you’ll realize that the vast majority of doors are inaccessible. In most games, they’re just there for décor, but in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, they hold a much larger purpose. Specifically, the doors you find across the world will lead you into those doors, and they’re unlocked from the other side.

Some of them hold simple rooms that have aesthetics or random items in them, while others are more puzzle-oriented. There’s no rhyme or reason to why some are more intricate than others, but they all circle back to one another in the end.

The Dining Hall

While expect to participate in various puzzles when entering the domains of The Manor, your first visit holds the first puzzle for you to solve. Nothing is ever explained in this location, but instead you have to go out to poke and prod everything in the environment to see if they give more clues to what’s going on in this bizarre world.

The Dining Hall is located on the second floor, directly across from the main entrance. It’s easily the largest room in the house, as it features a small fireplace area, a massive dining table and a grand piano area. Despite all of these, you are looking for four hidden ornaments on the wall that will unlock a secret location in the room.

Ornament #1

Upon entering the area, look to the right. Next to the flower vase on the ground, the wall extends outward with another flower vase on top of a small table. The ornament is on the wall here, and once interacted with it, it will flip upside down.

Ornament #2

From the location of the first ornament, head to the back of the room closest to the closed door up the small flight of stairs. Don’t go up the stairs, but turn around and look to the left. On the pillar that is located in the northeast of the room, there will be a second ornament hanging that can be interacted with.

Ornament #3

From Ornament #2’s location, immediately look to the right past the small flight of stairs. Move forward until you hit the wall, and you’ll be right in line with a rather grim-looking painting on the wall. To the immediate left of the painting will be the third interactable.

Ornament #4

The fourth and final Ornament is not too far off. From where you flipped the third, head forward into the room until you reach the fireplace. Looking directly at the fireplace, turn the camera to the left until you notice a small table below two paintings. The final ornament is directly above the small table, and interacting with it will open up the passage below it.

When you interact with all four, a small passage below the fourth ornament will open up and will lead you into a rather out-of-the-ordinary room, at least for this mansion, that houses boxes, paintings and sculptures. Break through the box in front of the statue to find the Linen and Cotton music record that can be played at camp.
