Steelrising Now Delayed to September 8th; New Gameplay Footage Released

Developer Spiders has announced the upcoming french revolution based Action-RPG Steelrising will now release on September 8th, delayed from its original June release window.

While news of the delay is sad to hear, new gameplay was released. We see Aegis an automaton that hacks and slashes their way through enemies, and even downward leaping onto foes. In the footage we get a quick look at some of the weapons and additions players will be able to add to their own automaton. This included Armoured Fans and Shield Musket.

Weapons are not the only option to augment your character as there are tools that can be used to help explore the environment including grappling hooks which look to be taking a leaf or in this case an arm out ofSekiro’s exploration book. But the grappling hook is not the only tool in Steelrising, so there could be some really interesting options here.

We also got to have a peek at some of the enemies which included a spinning blade robot that will pose a challenging fight.

Spiders

In case you missed it, Steelrising was announced at the Nacon event in 2020, a game set during the French Revolution about King Louis XVI’s automaton army which is terrorising the citizens of Paris. In this retelling, players will get to change the course of history. Safe to say the plot is quite unique, and if you’ve playedGreedfall, you’ll know Spiders has a way of weaving stories. While the settings are very different, the implementation of customisation not only in playstyle but also in cosmetic appearances looks to be also a part of Steelrising.

The combat looks quite different to Spiders' previous RPG party-based title Greedfall, as it looks to take on a focus on melee with different augments to cater to different playstyles.

Steelrisingwill now be released on September 8th, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
