Fashion Marine 2.
If you’re planning to play as a Tactical Space Marine in Operations or Eternal War, we strongly recommend first completing all the class Trials. Doing so will teach you everything you need to know about the core mechanics of this class and you’ll also be rewarded with some Requisition and Master-CraftedArmory Datafor performing well. Keep reading to find out how to ace each of the three Tactical class Trials.
Auspex Scan
The first Trial tasks you with killing six Tyranids in 40 seconds or less. Sounds pretty easy, but the catch is that enemies spawn in small groups that need to be cleared before the next ones show up. You’ll need to be fast and precise at taking down enemies to complete the Trial in the allotted time. Your gear for this first challenge consists of aBolt Pistol, aBolt Rifle, and aChainsword. You’re not getting any grenades, but you can (and should) use theAuspex Scanto make things easier.
As soon as you start the Trial you’ll be rushed by aTyranid Warrior (Twin Swords). While you can run around and shoot it with the rifle when you get an opening, we suggest you throw down the Auspex Scan and engage it in melee instead. Once the enemy is dead, aTyranid Warrior (Venom Cannon)will spawn on the left platform, while threeHormagauntswill spawn on the right. Take down the Warrior with the rifle before switching to the pistol to avoid wasting time reloading. You can reload the rifle as the finalTyranid Warrior (Venom Cannon)spawns in the back of the arena. Kill it with the rifle, but ensure to switch to ADS for increased precision.

Dodge the Warrior’s ranged attacks to avoid being staggered and wasting valuable seconds.
Battlefield Awareness
The second Trial is similar to the first one in that there are no special objectives aside from having to kill all enemies in 40 seconds once again. The difference is that you’ll have a lot more enemies to contend with this time around, including several Tyranid Warriors.Auspex Scanwill come in handy once again, but you’ll primarily have to rely on yourMelta Rifleto deal with most of the enemies. You also get aBolt PistolandChainswordas backup weapons.
Melt the first wave ofHormagauntsas it approaches and prepare for the next attack. Quickly switch to the pistol and use it to shoot the barrels next to the enemies on the elevated platforms. If you’re fast enough, you may also blow up the Warrior in the back of the arena by shooting at the barrels. Switch back to theMelta Rifleand attempt to get as many enemies as you can to clump together before dropping a scan. If done properly, you can finish off most of them with a couple of well-placed shots. If you run out of juice, don’t waste time reloading and kill the remaining enemies in melee instead.

Hidden Hunter
To clear the final trial, you’ll need to eliminate aLictoralong with a fewHormagauntsthat are mostly there just to distract you. The Lictor can turn invisible but, luckily for you, theAuspex Scancan reveal it. Scanning the Lictor is one of the three requirements needed for completing the trial, with the other two being to kill five enemies with headshots and finish the challenge in 60 seconds or less. You’ll have to make do with standard gear, which consists ofBolt Pistol,Bolt Rifle, andChainsword.
Clear the big wave ofHormagauntsusing one of your ranged weapons just to quickly get the headshots out of the way. Once theLictorshows up, you’ll want to drop a scan and switch to melee. This enemy is pretty tough, but you may kill it fairly quickly by using well-timed parries/dodges and counterattacks. Killing it with ranged weapons is possible as well, but a lot harder to pull off due to the creature’s high speed and mobility.

Make sure to kill the handful ofHormagauntsshooting at you from above when you get a moment of respite. They’re part of the challenge, too.
