During the promotion tour ofIron Man 2, it was reported that theShakespeare in Lovestar was not happy with theBlack Widowstar for snatching her limelight. The main reason reported for this fume was the fact that Paltrow’s Pepper Potts was not given sufficient attention in the promo pics, contrary to Johansson who was stunning the viewers marking her MCU debut. An insider reported that theProofstar was not happy as she was not given sufficient time and attention, unlike theLucystar.
“Gwyneth was afraid she’d be upstaged by Scarlett, and not being in the campaign was the final straw. She is furious she’s been left out.”

Scarlett Johanssonmade her appearance in Paltrow’s podcast, The goop Podcast, where both the superstars rubbished the false rumors of not getting along together. TheUnder the Skinstar was shocked by being questioned about this rumor. Johansson ensured the listeners thatGwyneth Paltrowwas very nice with her on-set and that the two developed a deep friendship there.
“You were so nice to me on that movie. I was so petrified. You were so nice to me! You could’ve been awful. I was so out of my comfort zone on that movie. I’d never done anything like that before. Plus, you guys had established such deep friendships.”
TheShakespeare in Lovestar also added that she was genuinely delighted with the entry of theBlack Widowstar as the set was pretty male-dominated and she now had a female co-star.
“We were so psyched you were there! And I was so happy to have another woman around.”
