Big changes are coming for the inhabitants of the Zone. Naturally, this includesnew content for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, an intense survival game available onXbox Series X|S, PC, and Game PasssinceNovember 2024.
After a rocky launch,GSC Game Worldgot to work fixing major bugs, errors, and crashes. This led to two updates, each delivering over1,000 bug fixes.
Update 1.3, released inMarch 2025, marks the “beginning of a new phase” for the survival RPG, now heading into its second quarter with a new wave of content.
Through the game’s official Twitter/X account, the developers announced that from now on,updates will be released quarterly. The next batch of patches focuses onnew content, previously unseen features, and other surprises.
This includes everything from amod editor, tonew weapons,mutant gear, and even anext-gen updatefor theSTALKER: Legends of the Zonecompilation.
Spring Highlights in the Zone
FromDecember to February, GSC Game World focused its efforts onbug fixing and performance improvementsfor STALKER 2. FromMarch to June, the studio will launch several updates and patches to make the Zone a better place.
Kicking things off is theofficial mod platform, known asModKit, following in the footsteps ofThe Witcher 3andBaldur’s Gate 3by allowing users to develop their own in-game content.
It will first undergointernal testing, followed byclosed testing with selected users. Its launch and eventualintegration into Steam Workshopis expected in the coming weeks.
Also coming areupgrades to A-Life 2.0, the game’sNPC AI system, enabling more natural reactions during combat.
