Razerhas announced two new laptop accessories that aren’t just a headset and a mouse. A new docking station and an external graphics enclosure will open the door to more performance from any laptop. TheRazerThunderbolt 5 Dock and Razer Core X V2 will deliver expanded bandwidth and modular flexibility for all users. The Thunderbolt 5 Dock is highlighted by peak transfer speeds of 120GB/s (12x faster than USB 3.0) and seamless operation. The Razer Core X V2 delivers desktop-class performance to Thunderbolt 4, 5 and select USB4 gaming laptops and handhelds as a plug-and-play upgrade for compatible devices.

Modern Engineering for Modern Solutions

The insane addition with the Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock is one cable to control three monitors that support 4K resolution at 120Hz. The dock also offers 8TB of integrated SSD storage while the Thunderbolt Share technology enables seamless file transfers and even multi-pc control with KVM functionality.On top of the visual technology, the single cable allows for 11-in-1 connectivity for gaming peripherals, external storage and input devices.Multi-generation support ensure seamless integration for both modern and legacy hardware. This comes with a 250 watt power adapter able that delivers up to 140 watts to connected laptop.

The dock also offers 8TB of integrated SSD storage while the Thunderbolt Share technology enables seamless file transfers and even multi-pc control with KVM functionality.

Technology doesn’t come cheap. The Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock retails for $389.99. it also offers Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, a UHS-II SD Card Slot, USB Type A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, USB C 3.2 Gen 2 port, and a storage slot for fast M.2s up to 8TB. Access to the M.2 slow is on the top with an embedded slot. 8K support is also available with the dock.

Bringing the Big Cards to the Fight

If laptop GPU’s just aren’t getting it done, theRazerCore X V2 will utilize the power of desktop GPU’s with Thunderbolt 4, 5 and USB4 connections.This enclosure supports standard ATX power supplies and full-sized PCIe graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD.A ventilated steel chassis and a built-in 120 mm fan will automatically adjust based on load to allow the dispersement of heat. Razer Synapse allows for a custom fan curve to be tuned to optimize cooling. Connection for the Razer Core X V2 will only require a single cable thanks to Thunderbolt 5. It also provides up to 140W of charging power. The Razer Core X V2 is available now for $349.99.
