Koei Tecmohas just released a new trailer forNinja Gaiden: Ragebound,the upcoming installment in this veteran action series, set to launch this summer onPS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is being developed by The Game Kitchen.
A New Kunoichi Joins the Fight
This new trailer brings a big surprise—it confirms the addition of a second, brand-new playable character created exclusively for this installment. Her name isKumori, a proud kunoichi belonging to theBlack Spider Clan, the evil ninja faction we’ve faced in numerous previous entries in the series. Now, having risen to become the strongest fighter in her clan, Kumori bears the responsibility of rebuilding it.
WhileKenji, the main protagonist, fights with a katana and specializes in close-quarters combat,Kumoriwields akunai, granting her impressive range and the ability to strike from virtually any position at high speed.
Despite coming from rival clans,Kenji and Kumoriwill ultimately join forces to face a greater threat that traps them in a demonic world. Players will be able to switch between both characters to combine their weapons and unique skills. Additionally, aki meterallows players to unleash new techniques, and by building up rage through hypercharged attacks, they can execute a devastating move that clears the screen of enemies.
Classic Action with a Modern Twist
Ninja Gaiden: Rageboundis a2D action-platformerwithpixel art graphics, inspired by the original NES titles. It promises to deliver the fast-paced, challenging ninja action that has always defined the series.
