Capcom’sMega Man Xaction-platformer is split into 10 stages, the first being a tutorial or introduction stage, 8 main stages and then the final stage. Any of the 8 main stages can be done in any order you choose but clearing a stage will have an affect on other stages for better or for worse, so be alert on the select changes. Below is a guide for the Tower stage and it’s boss, Boomer Kuwanger. I will explain each of the enemies and boss you will face in this stage.
Mega Man X: Tower Stage & Boomer Kuwanger Guide
In this stage you will face few enemies before meeting the final boss called the Boomber Kuwanger. You will come up against Hoganmer, Sine Fallers, Jammingers, Dodge Blasters, Ladder Yadders and Slide Cannons. There are no mini-bosses in this level. I will explain how to defeat each enemy you will face in this step-by-step guide.
Tower Stage
Start making your way through the level by ascending the ladders. Soon enough players will findHoganmer, a mace and shield robot that is waiting to engage you. Wait until he swings then release a charged shot at him. Afterwards, there will be a fewSine Fallerenemies to avoid in addition to trip wire laser beams.
Once players have crossed to the other side of the lasers, climb the ladder and destroy some reploids that shoot missiles. Continue progressing to the nearby elevator and ride it to the top. There will be spikes on the two walls as well as some of the platforms. On the elevator trip, there will be numerousJammingersflying around trying to impede progress.
There will be someDodge Blasterson the left wall shooting at you while you attempt to climb some ladders. Players will seeLadder Yadderswhich are gecko-like robots, hanging around on the ladders. On the top floor, there’s a Heart Tank that is out of reach. Using the Boomerang Cutter will make retrieving this Heart Tank child’s play.
Slide Cannonsand Dodge Blasters will be on moving platforms. Destroy the cannons to ride the moving machines to reach the ladders. It won’t be long until players reach the boss.
Boss: Boomer Kuwanger
Boomer Kuwangercan easily be defeated by using Homing Torpedo. His range of movement is limited to a couple of patterns, they consist of the following 2 simple moves:
Hop onto a nearby wall and shoot a Homing Torpedo at the Boomer. This will hurt the boss while avoiding his attacks and his quick gliding movements. If he gets too close to you simply dash jump away to counter.
Defeating the Boomer Kuwanger you will receive the Boomber Cutter weapon which will help in grabbing Heart Tanks in certain levels.
