Mark-Paul Gosselaar will appear on theSaved by the Bellrevival after all. The actor previously revealed he had not been contacted to take part in the new series, which will debut on NBC Universal’s forthcoming streaming service, Peacock. Gosselaar, who played Zack Morris on the show, will be reprising his original role. Gosselaar’s former co-star Tiffani Thiessen is reportedly in final talks to join the upcoming reboot as Kelly Kapowski, though an official deal has not yet been made. Gosselaar is also on board as an executive producer.

Josie Totahis set to star in theSaved by the Bellreboot as Lexi, who is described as “a beautiful, sharp-tongued cheerleader and the most popular girl atBayside Highwho is both admired and feared by her fellow students.” Totah is also a producer on the new series. Fans of the originalSaved by the Bellhave been waiting for the original cast to reunite like this forever, though they all still see each other when they can in real-life, except for Dustin Diamond and Lark Voorhies. Gosselaar, Lopez, Berkley, and Thiessen were recently spotted last April at dinner together.
Lark Voorhies leads a more private life these days and it’s unclear if she was approached or turned down an offer to guest star on theSaved by the Bellreboot. As for Dustin Diamond, he more than likely was not asked to take part. There has been some bad blood between the rest of the cast and the Screech Powers actor over the years. Diamond has publicly slammed his former co-stars and even wrote a tell-all book, which has been deemed a work of fiction. As great as it would be to see everybody together again, this is the next-best thing.
TheSaved by the Bellreboot will be written and executive produced by Tracey Wigfield. Peter Engel and Franco Bario, who were a part of the originalSaved by the Belland its spinoffs, will serve as executive producers this time around. There is no release date at this time, but it sounds like production will begin shortly, now that casting seems to be winding down. Will they bring up Lisa Turtle and Samuel “Screech” Powers?
