The Souls-like mania has peaked with the release of Elden Ring, but it is far from over. Fans of the challenging gameplay and brutal difficulty still devour anything that seems to have something to do with Souls-like mechanics. One of the better examples is certainly Lies of P, which started from a totally insane concept – it’s a dark and gloomy retelling of the story of a wooden puppet that wants to become a real boy. Before the very decent demo was released this summer, last year’s Lies of P showcase at Gamescom 2022 left a slightly different impression. Although the game already looked pretty good even then with clear Souls-like mechanics and an interesting environment, what drew most people’s attention was the hilarious placeholder voice acting that quickly went viral and became a meme.
