Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswill be the 28th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is being directed byEvil DeadandSpider-Man 2filmmaker Sam Raimi from a script written by Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron. Rumors and speculation continue to swirl aroundDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with the MCU sequel expected to feature all kinds of crowd-pleasing cameos. One such moment has been teased in the recent trailer, as well as these latest images, with Doctor Strangerumored to have been imprisoned by The Illuminati, a superhero team comprised of Professor X, Namor, and Mr. Fantastic among others.

Benedict Cumberbatch has teased some of these surprising “encounters,” as well as offering some insight into the journey Doctor Strange will embark on inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “There’s a lot of reckoning,” the actor said. “And a lot of self-discovery. Strange is almost a stranger to himself before this film unfolds and reveals what, essentially, is in his nature, that he then has to either confront or resist or fall into or become.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis likely to cause some serious fallout on the MCU, with Cumberbatch revealing that the conclusions may not be what many expect. “There are some very bold ideas, and some extraordinary tests of Strange and encounters,” Cumberbatch continued. “There are some very unexpected conclusions.”
