Before we begin, ensure you’re running the latest version of the Instagram app on youriPhoneorAndroid. Also, add your friends to the close friends list so you can create your own inside circle.

Sharing Posts and Reels With Close Friends on Instagram

We’re using an Android phone here but the process of sharing posts or reels with close friends on Instagram is similar on the iPhone and Android, so you’re able to follow the guide regardless of your device.

1.OpenInstagramon your iPhone or Android, then tap on thePlus iconat the bottom center of the app.

2.Choose betweenPostorReelas required, then select your media for the same. We’re choosingPosthere as an example. Then tap onNexton the top right of the app screen.

3.Adjust the filters and their intensity as per your need, then tap onNext.

4.Look forAudienceand tap on it. Then tap onClose Friendsfrom the pop-up menu. This will ensure that you’re sharing your post or reel only with your close friends and no one else.

Note:All your close friends will be able to see each other’s usernames when they like, comment, or share your post or reel.

5.Now write a caption for your post, maybe add a location, andsome musicif you’d like, and tag other people. Then tap onShareon the top right after you’re done completing your post or reel.

Tip:You cannot share a close friend’s post or reel to your Facebook or any other linked account.

6.When you tap on Share, the post will be shared with all your close friends on Instagram. Thegreen star (close friends label)next to your posts and reels confirms that they are shared only with your close friends on Instagram.

Pro Tip:You can tap on the green star icon present next to the posts and reels to quickly see your close friend’s list in case you want to make some changes to it on the go.
