Throughout your journey across the Living Lands inAvowed, you will come across some fascinating individuals. Like a traditional fantasy game, there are elves, dwarves, humans and furry little creatures, just to name a few. Each one has their own plights and troubles, and in this case, we are tasked with retrieving a shipment that seems to have gone undelivered. Little did we know it would lead us into a smuggler’s den.
Avowed: A Lady Never Tells Quest Guide
Fetching a shipment has never been more difficult in Avowed, with a gang holding it hostage.
Accepting the Quest
The Envoy will need to speak toSapiento de Falva, an alchemist who deals in exotic wares. Unfortunately for him, his shipment of reagent has gone missing. It would seem that the charismatic older gentleman has ordered some rare and valuable adra, something you might be used to upgrading unique weapons with.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill adra, though, as it’s “luminous”, being far more potent and exceedingly rarer to obtain. As you might imagine, he wants to verify his investment has not gotten “lost” in shipping, or in this case, stolen. He has employed your services to track down his shipment of luminous adra and return it to him.

Asking Around Town
Your first clue is that Sapiento employed dwraven smugglers to get him his adra, so there are a couple of individuals you’ll need to talk to. The first isScholar Gunethdown in theUnderbelly of Paradis. She will point you to a scholar in the Sparrowhawks district of the city. Depending on how far you are into the main story, this area can be crawling with enemies, or they will be neutral to you. Regardless, talk toScholar Remioand he will point you to yet another scholar.
Head to the main gate where you were shot upon entering Paradis to meet withScholar Adelgund. She actually has a little more information for you than the other two, thankfully pointing you in the immediate direction. She will point you in the direction of Castol’s Folly, a small island justsoutheast of Paradis, which is crawling with smugglers.

Castol’s Folly
You’ve likely picked up this quest fairly early on in the story, and because of this, Precious Light will become the most difficult side quest you have yet. The enemies in Castol’s Folly are much stronger than most of the region, so it’s best to do this a little later on.
Regardless, when you’re strong enough, progress through the Folly by taking down the various smugglers that guard it. You will eventually come across their captain, Trevik, who pleads for your aid. It would have been nice if he had done this at the beginning rather than having to cut through most of his men. Still, it would seem they lost Sapiento’s adra, and it sank to the bottom of the sea. Instead, they are looking to repay a debt with Vailian Trading Company.

You will have the option to kill the captain and his crewmates here and now, or you could try and lend them a hand. Either way, you will get theAdra Cratefrom Trevik and now comes a decision: will you try and reason with the Vailian Trading Company, or will you abandon the smugglers and leave them to their fate?
Approaching the Vailian Trading Company
If you decide to follow through with your word, Captain Evina Bardatto will be located near the Southern Embrace Party Camp teleport. Approach her and, unfortunately, she doesn’t take too kindly to you holding their adra. Evina doesn’t take no for an answer and even if you try to barter for the adra, she will attack you thinking she has the upper hand. Defeat her and her party to be cleared of any potential issues later on.
Abandon the Smugglers
You have the means of completely ignoring their request and instead of going to the Vailian Trading Company’s representative, you simply turn in the adra to Sapiento back in Paradis. This may cause trouble in the future, but for now, you can avoid a conflict and be able to reap the rewards in the early stages of the story.
