How to complete Ancestor’s Drill Bit mission inHonkai Star Rail

In order to begin the Ancestor’s Drill Bit mission, you must have first reached Trailblaze Level 24 and completed the relatedOut of Controlmission. This will allow you to receive a text from Serval that unlocks the new mission.

To clear the Ancestor’s Drill Bit mission, help find a family heirloom lost in the Corridor of Fading Echoes. This mission will take some time to complete but offers terrific rewards.

Honkai Star Rail Ancestors Drill Bit Findie Activates

After receiving Serval’s text, begin by heading toNeverwinter Workshopand meeting with Serval. She is talking with her friend, Molly, about a box the young woman has been unable to open. Eventually, Molly asks who to contact for more assistance. I first suggested asking Pela, which seems to be the correct answer. Making that selection activates the mission.

Next, leave Serval’s workshop and head to the bookstore in theAdministrative District. There, a scene follows. It concludes once Pela arrives. She returns to the workshop with you. Eventually, she agrees to help you, which activates anExploratory ExcursioncalledOld Fortress Scavenge. It provides rewards of its own, in addition to those you receive for clearing the mission at hand.

Honkai Star Rail Ancestors Drill Bit First Clue

You get to choose a team that will visit theCorridor of Fading Echoes. This is an icy area. I suggest bringing along characters such as March 7th, Serval, and a healer, as well as another damage dealer such as Dan Heng or Seele. That’s what I did, and I encountered no difficulty with any of the area mobs.

When you arrive in the corridor,Findieactivates. You’re supposed to use him to find clues throughout the region, though that step is not strictly necessary. I mostly just ignored him and went to the points indicated by map icons. If you get close and can’t figure out where the clue lurks, that’s the moment to use Findie.

Honkai Star Rail Ancestors Drill Bit Third Clue

From where you first appear and Findie materializes, follow the main passage past theSustenance Anchor. Proceed until you see a closed gate and a controller, but head left before you reach them. Down some stairs, you will see a yellow circle on the map that plots out your search area. Head to its center and check near a wall with a gate to your right. Pela will find a tile with words engraved on it, which counts as the first clue.

Go back the way you just came, toward the gate and the controller. This time, defeat an enemy mob. The group consists of someIncineration Shadewalkersand anImaginary Weaver. Once you defeat them, use the controller device they guarded to open the gate. Additional mobs patrol this more open area. Tend to them and then start through the next archway. There is a stack of crates to its right. Check the glowing point on top of the crates to find the next clue.

Continue along the path beyond those crates to encounter another mob consisting of twoFlamespawnenemies and aBlaze Out of Space. Use the controller to open the gate they guarded and reach a plaza where Pela decides to split up with you. Next, head down a narrow path to the side and follow it along a winding corridor to circle around and reach a stone balcony overlooking the plaza. you may search to find theEdited Note.

Now you need to reunite with Pela. Head back to the main plaza and use a controller to open the gate. Through that gate waits another controller. When you try to use it, the attempt fails. Then Pela asks for help from the far side of the gap. You remember the sequence of clues you found, and then you can try using the controller again. At this time, selectClockwise rotation arrow, thenCounterclockwise rotation arrow, and thenClockwise rotation arrowagain.

Now that you have activated the controller, you can use it to spin the giant gear at the center of the gap. That way, Pela will be able to cross to your location. You can spin it in either direction to bring that result about. The goal is to position it the way you see depicted in the image above. Then you can ‘leave’ the controller.

Cross over to Pela and participate in a brief exchange. Then move past where she was standing to reach an enemy mob that guards a key. This group includes twoIncineration Shadewalkersand aSearing Prowler. Ice attacks are useful, along with attacks relying on the lightning or wind elements. Once you defeat the foes, check the nearbyPrecious Treasurefor theStrange Drill Ornamentand theOld Photo of Balakin.

Besides the treasure, you receive the 4-starMusketeer’s Coarse Leather Gloves,Adventure Log (2),Condensed Aether (2), andCredit (3000)for clearing the related challenge. Now you’re ready to return to Serval’s workshop for an even greater reward.

Back at her workshop, talk to Serval at the counter. Submit the required items as you are prompted. Once the sequence concludes, you receive your rewards. These includeTrailblaze EXP (350),Stellar Jade (60),Condensed Aether (5),Shield (200), andCredit (25,000). Now you’re ready to seek out your next adventure.
