The story is in its final arc, which currently focuses on the long-awaited encounter between Sukuna and Itadori, who is now the hope of Jujutsu society.
Ever since the demise of Gojo Satoru, the series has charted into an unknown territory, with fans unable to predict what will happen next.
Gege Akutami is on a generation run, and only a handful of the manga series have gotten this much hype in many years.
One question that keeps bothering the fans is about the ending date of the story. Now that the story is impressive and many characters are getting involved, the end is inevitably near.
This was confirmed by the author of the series, Gege Akutami, who mentioned that this year would be the last they feature on Jump Fest while still being serialized, indicating that the series would be up for a wrap in the upcoming year.
However, one silver lining is that authors sometimes fail to gauge their abilities, as seen with Oda sensei, who stated that the series would end and later on continue for years.

The anime is currently animating the Shibuya arc, which fans often claim to be the most well-written arc in the entire series.
Manga and anime are several years apart, and the current storyline of the manga would take many years to be animated.
As for the manga, it is currently in its culling game arc, where almost all of the characters in the story are engaged in battle, and prominent names are getting killed.
One such was Kenjaku, who was ambushed by none other than Yuta, who severed his head, putting an end to the plans of the evil antagonist.
However, Sukuna is still standing, and as the story progresses, it seems more and more impossible to defeat. It would be interesting to see how Gege Akutami manages to give closure to such a masterpiece.
