I still remember the early days when Apple placed a heavy emphasis onCover Flowfor browsing your music library. While those days might be over, we’ve taken a particular liking to a newly releasedjailbreak tweakcalledFlowby iOS developerMuirey03, as it puts a modernized spin on the classic Cover Flow media view.
Those who remember Cover Flow probably remember it one of two ways: 1) clunky; or 2) simplistic. Cover Flow appeared nice to look at, but it wasn’t always as refined or fluid as I would have liked. Flow, on the other hand, modernizes the Cover Flow concept such that it not only looks good, but works just as well.
Flow’s modernized take on the Cover Flow concept, compliments of @Xeviks, comprises of rounded corners on the album artwork and suitably designed media controls that appear just underneath it. If we didn’t already know better, we’d be inclined to think this was something Apple designed themselves.
Flow brings substantial compatibility to the table, both in theApp Storeworld and in the jailbreak tweak world. As for the App Store world, the tweak plays nicely with virtually any app that displays album artwork in the Now Playing interface, includingApple Music,Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud, TIDAL, YouTube Music, Podcasts, and more.
In the jailbreak tweak world, Flow has been carefully crafted to be compatible with tweaks such asColorFlow,Mitsuha Infinity,NextUp 2,Jellyfish,Notifica, andAxon, among others. Here are just a few examples of the fine-tuned compatibility at work:
