TheStatus Baris used to display pertinent information about your iOS device at a glance, including the battery level, signal strength, and time, to name just a few of those things. While I like seeing the Status Bar in most cases, I can also attest to the fact that I sometimes wish I could hide it unobtrusively, such as when playingPokémon GOfor instance (as it doesn’t blend in well with the game’s background).
Here to help with such a whim is a newly released and freejailbreak tweakdubbedpeepby iOS developerConorTheDev, which lets users hide and show their iOS device’s Status Bar on demand with just a tap.

The way peep works is simple: when you aren’t in the mood to see your Status Bar, merely tap it and it goes away; then, when you’re ready to view the Status Bar again, merely tap where it would typically appear, and it materializes right before your very eyes.
Personally, I think that peep works splendidly. The tweak isn’t cumbersome by any stretch because you’re able to make the Status Bar appear and disappear faster than blinking your eye. This is much more ideal than any tweak that hides the Status Bar entirely, as you won’t need to visit any preference panes to hide or show the Status Bar on demand.

That aside, peep does add a preference pane to the Settings app where you’re able to toggle the tweak on or off on demand and choose whether any animation occurs when you hide or show the Status Bar:
If you’re in the same boat as me and sometimes wish you could temporarily dismiss the Status Bar when you don’t need it, then you candownload peep for free from ConorTheDev’s beta repositoryvia your preferred package manager. The tweak supportsjailbrokeniOS 12 and 13 devices.
If you don’t already have ConorTheDev’s beta repository installed, then you may add it to your package manager with the following URL:
