Capcom Shipped 2 Million Copies of Resident Evil in the First 5 Days
Resident Evil 3 Remake released this month and in the first five days shipped 2 million copies digitally and physically. The survival horror released on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
This follows the success ofResident Evil 2 Remakewhich released last year, where Capcom shipped 3 million copies within the first week of launch. While the numbers are not as high as RE2’s release for concurrent players on Steam which was 74,000 at peak, while RE3 was 60,000, it’s still a big win for the franchise. Resident Evil 3 Remake has also launched with high digital sales:

Digital versions of the game accounted for nearly 50% of sales due to promoting Capcom’s digital sales strategy,” reads Capcom’s press release. “[This resulted] in shipments passing the 2-million-unit mark five days following release.
With the milestones Capcom has achieved, it only makes sense that they would revisit Resident Evil 4, and according to sources to VGC, they are working on the next entry.

Resident Evil 3 Remake received a graphic overhaul as well as gameplay. The first title Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released for the first Playstation, which placed players in the role of Jill Valentine, who is trying escape the clutches of the zombie epidemic and much larger creature called Nemesis. RE3 also came with the 1 vs 4 online multiplayer gameResident Evil Resistance.
Resident Evil 3is available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
