For those of you that still might not know,Anna and the Apocalypseis azombie musical comedythat begins when azombie apocalypsethreatens the sleepy town of Little Haven - at Christmas - forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones. But they soon discover that no one is safe in this new world, and with civilization falling apart around them, the only people they can truly rely on are each other.

Directed by McPhail from a screenplay written by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry, based on the short filmZombie Musicalwhich was directed by McHenry,Anna and the Apocalypseis produced by Naysun Alae-Carew, Nicholas Crum, and Tracy Jarvis. It stars Ella Hunt, Malcolm Cumming, Marli Siu, Sarah Swire, Christopher Leveaux, and Ben Wiggins, andpremiered this past September at Fantastic Fest. Then, hallelujah, back on November 30, the movie finally sang, danced, and bashed zombie brains all the way into theaters and digital here in the United States and the United Kingdom.
And if the words “Zombie Musical Christmas Comedy” wasn’t enough to get you into line at your local multiplex, then maybe you should hear about all the solid word-of-mouth surrounding the film the past few months. The motion picture currently holds a middle of the road (but still fresh) score of 79% over on Rotten Tomatoes with the Critics Consensus reading: “Anna and the Apocalypse findfresh brains and a lot of heartin the crowded zombie genre - not to mention a fun genre mashup populated by rootable characters.” And on top of that, the movie has been nominated for multiple awards this past year including Best Independent Film at the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards, the Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and the British Academy Scotland Awards nominated the film for both Best Actress for Ella Hunt and Best Feature Film. Impressive, huh?

For those of you that have already seen the film and loved it, you can always own the killer soundtrack as well.
