All Switch 2 game upgrades, including free & paid enhancements
TheSwitch 2will launch with free and paid upgrades that enhance the visuals and performance of several Switch games, like Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Odyssey, and more.
While the Switch 2 editions of games likeZelda: Tears of the KingdomandHogwarts Legacywill require players to purchase an upgrade pack, Nintendo has now revealed details about all the free Switch game enhancements that will be released at launch.
The Switch 2 upgrades may improve graphics, performance, and even add support for features such as GameShare to existing Switch games. Each title offers different improvements, so to make your life easier, we’ve listed every free Switch 2 game upgrade and all the enhancements they will receive.
All free Switch 2 game upgrades
There are currently12 Nintendo Switch games that will be getting free enhancement updateson the Switch 2. The free enhancements will beavailable to download alongside the Switch 2 launch on July 19, 2025.
It’s important to note that Nintendo’sGameChat feature will be free to all Switch 2 players until July 18, 2025. Afterwards, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required.
All paid Switch 2 game upgrades
There are currently six paid Switch 2 upgrade games. It’s important to note that if you already own the Switch version of the titles below, you can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for a cheaper price.
