O2 announces 5G in more UK towns and cities, now 60 locations covered

O2 has announced5Gin 40 more locations bringing the total of covered locations to 60. It had originally targeted 50 locations by summer 2020. That’s quite an extension of the company’s previous total, which stood at 20 at the start of the year, although O2 still lags behind EE and Three in terms of the number of places covered. The simple numbers aren’t the full picture though, because the covered mileage does vary wildly....

On the universe of negativity Apple now lives in…

Stop me if you’ve already heard this one: Apple is doomed, doomed, DOOMED. Didn’t you get the memo? Investors have been displeased with Apple’s slowing growth since the dawn of time, saying iPhones and other Apple gadgets ought to be even more expensive than they already are. Review: The Smurfs

Over the past few decades, we’ve seen a few Smurfs games to varying degrees of quality. The ’90s got NES, Genesis and SNES games and the most recent ones have been 3D platformers that delivered fun, if through a flawed execution. Thankfully, Ocellus Studio is at the helm of The Smurfs - Dreams and it feels very much like an isometric 3D game rooted in the gameplay flow of their prior game Marsuipilami - Hoobasventure....

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 review: One screen to rule them all

Let’s not beat around the bush. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9gaming monitoris utterly ridiculous. But in the best kind of way. A curved, desk-filling, 49-inch ultrawide QD-OLED gaming monitor (complete with a 240Hz refresh rate and HDR), it promises to unapologetically barrage your retinas with inky blacks, bold colours, and silky smooth performance, until you’re left with no choice but to submit to its visual majesty. At a wallet-busting $2200/£1599 though, it needs to dazzle, enthral, and downright blow minds to justify the cash....

Samsung unveils 5G mmWave tech for ‘tens of gigabits per second’ wireless downloads

When you just can’t wait a minute to download that huge video, Samsung comes to the rescue. Sort of. Eventually. Reports Monday indicate Apple’s rival has found the key to delivering gigabit download speeds through a new fifth-generation cellular radio technology, dubbed 5G mmWave. It’s unclear whether the new tech can gain acceptance to eventually overtake 4G networks still rolling out. For the iPhone maker, however, Samsung breaking today’s wireless speed barrier may mean more court wrangling as the two companies seek any advantage in the lucrative smartphone market…...
